COVID Field Hospital

Supported Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management’s coordination efforts with senior-level local government officials in planning and response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This included contingency planning for a field hospital with the capacity to handle from 1,000 to 3,000 patients and coordination with the County’s Health Department, local healthcare systems, North Carolina Division of Emergency Management and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.

Coordinated with the Chief Medical Officer for the Republican National Committee, U.S. Secret Service and local healthcare systems on planning and preparedness efforts to support the 2020 Republican National Convention held in Charlotte, N.C. during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coordinated with U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to design and facilitated a Fall, 2020 tabletop exercise to evaluate the preparedness of City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County government stakeholders for the 2020 presidential election.

Fixed Nuclear Facility/Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plan Update

Coordinated with the Radiological Emergency Preparedness Planner for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management to update the County’s radiological emergency preparedness plan in support of McGuire Nuclear Station and Catawba Nuclear Station. This update brought Mecklenburg County’s plan into alignment with FEMA regulations update (NUREG-0654)/FEMA-REP-1, rev.2.

Charlotte-Douglas International Airport 2014 Triennial Exercise

Coordinated with the airport’s director of operations to design and implement a field exercise to assess capabilities of first responder agencies responding to and managing the aftermath of the collision between a departing commercial airliner and small civilian aircraft crossing the active runway. Served as Co-Lead Exercise Controller for this exercise that satisfied FAA requirements.
